Basic Christian Beliefs
We hold to these basic Christian beliefs:
- The bible is inspired by God. It is accurate, and necessary for our knowledge of God and understanding of man.
- God is one, existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- God created the universe. He is the author of life.
- Mankind’s disobedience has separated us from God and brought God’s displeasure upon us and creation. Sin is common to mankind and continues to affect everyone.
- God loves the world and sent his son, Jesus Christ. Jesus was conceived by the virgin Mary, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to live a righteous life on earth as a man and show us how to live with love and compassion.
- Jesus Christ suffered death on the cross as our substitute, paying the penalty for mankind’s rejection of Him.
- Jesus Christ’s death on the cross and rising to new life guarantees eternal life to all who believe in Him.
- For us to reap the benefits of Jesus’ death and resurrection, the Holy Spirit works in us, directing and guiding us to live a life of service and trust in Jesus Christ.
- The person and power of the Holy Spirit continues to live and work through and in every believer.
- Jesus Christ shall come again in power and glory to judge all people.
- Parents are responsible for the upbringing of their children. They ought to provide the best possible opportunity for their children to grow in their understanding and practice of what it means to be a Christian. This is why we provide Christian Schools.
A more detailed statement of our beliefs is printed in the educational creed.
