Sections of the college

Primary

The Primary Section consists of Grades Prep to 5.

Classroom teachers are responsible for the core subjects of Mathematics, English, General Studies and Biblical Studies.  PE and Sport, LOTE, and Information Technology are provided by specialists.  A class-based music program is run for grades Prep to 4 and PMP (Perceptual Motor Skills Program) for Grade Prep to 2.  All students have adequate access to computers.

Primary teachers employ a wide range of teaching styles to provide an integrated program that caters for individual children's needs.  Parents are much appreciated as classroom helpers.

Middle School

The Middle School section consists of Grade 6 to Year 8.

Students are are provided with a unique program which gradually introduces students to an increasing range of specialist staff and facilities, while retaining the stability and security of spending at least two periods every day with a homeroom teacher for core subjects.

The program is under constant review to avoid overlap and to best prepare students in the skills they need for more independent learning in secondary classes.  Such skills include mastery of basic processes in mathematics and literacy, keyboarding skills, homework and study skills, safe and skilled handling of a variety of tools, and developing areas of service.

Secondary

The Secondary School section consists of Year 9 & 10.  Subjects have been chosen to provide a broad but solid preparation for the specialised teaching provided for Year 11 & 12 VCE programs.

The core subjects are English, Mathematics, Biblical Studies, SOSE, PE/Sport.

Other subjects introduced in Year 7 & 8, and offered as electives in Years 9 & 10 include Art and Craft, Design and Technology Studies, Photography, Music & Performing Arts, Food Technology, Information Technology and Media Studies.  Students are also presented with the opportunity to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh awards.

A careful program of careers education is supported by a well-developed work experience program.  The Year 10 students are kept fully advised on matters relating to VCE and alternatives in further education.
